Dutch Hanseatic Cities, Harbor Towns & Natural Wonders by Bike and Boat
The Best Way to Experience Dutch Culture in the Netherlands is soaking up all the culture and vast landscapes by bike. The towns were beautiful and the routes did not have much traffic. The majority of this tour is flat and takes place on quite bike routes which are very scenic and calm. The guides were more than helpful, patient and knowledgeable assuring everyone in the group was safe and offered knowledge about the areas (thanks Hans!). The accommodations aboard the Maginifique II were more than I expected, very comfortable and clean. The crew was fantastic and so much fun! Our meals were superb as the chef was amazing. I definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants to explore Holland. Thank you Biketours.com, great job!

A tour of appreciation for authentic Holland
Dutch Hanseatic Cities, Harbor Towns & Natural Wonders by Bike and Boat
This trip should be your one-stop-shop when seeking to experience authentic Holland. We spent a week sailing along the country's grand rivers, watching the authentic Dutch countryside drift by outside the window and biking out to discover the stunning architecture of the historical Hanseatic towns, as well as Amsterdam on the first and final day.
Our tour guides, Hans and Tom, almost felt like family by the end of the trip. Hans was upbeat and full of passion and Tom was full of recommendations when we explored each town.
The atmosphere on board the boat was great and the staff were exceptional. All of them were friendly, full of fun, and helpful so mealtimes were brilliant (as was the food). The boat was extremely clean and our cabins were very comfortable.
The biking itself was very enjoyable and at a pace that meant everyone could enjoy the experience of cycling and soaking up the rural views. My favourite sections were in the atmospheric forests with the dancing trees - we went in autumn so the colours were incredible!
Overall, this was a relaxing and comfortable way to bike and boat through Holland.

One of our favorite vacations
Amsterdam – Bruges by Bike and Boat – Magnifique I (and reverse)
We had an absolutely awesome time. Accommodations, equipment, and staff were all great. We also had perfect weather and a wonderful group of co-travelers. Would do a vacation like this again in a heart beat.
Only thing that would make it even better, would be to have a masseuse on board!

Bike, Barge, Fine Dining!
Amsterdam to Cologne along the IJssel and Rhine
What a super trip! The Merlin is a beautiful barge and the crew exceptionally welcoming. Meals were gourmet, the scenery beautiful, and the cycling was so perfect. Ilsa was a terrific guide - the picture of patience, a font of knowledge, and an expert cyclist. The small group size meant we were able to become acquainted with each other very quickly, which was fun. The staterooms were so comfortable and inviting. Superb service. The most delightful trip!
Holland's Hanseatic Cycling Route
This tour had the perfect mix of countryside and cityscapes! Most of the cycling was on cycle paths through the countryside, before we would navigate back towards town for a sweet treat and coffee about mid-way through the ride. Then we would follow the paths back through the woodlands or fields of heather. Then at the end of the day we would reach our destination with enough time to spend exploring town!
The guides did an excellent job making everyone feel comfortable on their bikes and in the group setting. They were knowledgable about the local landscapes and historic details of the towns that we would pass through. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how FUN the guides! They truly added to the experience, as did the rest of the crew!
The Magnifique II was very nice and the bedding was SO COMFORTABLE! The food was amazing for the entirety of the tour and the snacks when we arrived back from our ride was an added bonus.
I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!

Leafde fan Fryslân is a stunning ship!
Netherlands Bike & Sail Adventure: Wadden Sea and IJsselmeer
I can't fully speak for the cycling part of this tour - though have personally biked all over Holland many times - but was on this ship for a private dinner event earlier this fall. It's truly a stunning boat (they recently expanded and refurbished it) and I'm 100% certain it will provide for an amazing holiday experience in and around an area that is also UNESCO World Heritage site.

Best of Holland North: Dutch Villages, Landscapes & the Keukenhof
We combined this tour with the Best of Holland South tour (Canals, Windmills, and Historic Towns), starting in Utrecht and ending in Amersfoort, The owners of Tulip Cycling, Peter Vos and Liesbeth van Vulpen, did a fabulous job arranging charming and centrally located accommodations and providing excellent bikes with spot-on GPS routing. These two tours offered everything (and more) that you expect to see in Holland: windmills, tulips, quaint towns, history, art, architecture. We recommend doing these tours in April when tulip, daffodil and hyacinth fields are at their peak and the Keukenhof is open.

Biking through North Holland
Best of Holland North: Dutch Villages, Landscapes & the Keukenhof
This trip exceeded my expectations! Since most people own and ride bikes, the bike paths in cities and rural areas are extremely well marked and maintained. That, along with the flat topography, made this self-guided trip a really enjoyable experience! The training we received when the bikes were delivered to our hotel was thorough and all of our questions were answered. Since we had both a Garmin and printed maps, we managed to find our way most of the time. It was slightly difficult finding the correct route when we started out in the mornings, but people on the street were more than happy to point us in the right direction. The distance covered each day was reasonable and the only difficulty came from the wind. One day we seemed to be riding into the wind no matter which direction we turned!
The cities chosen for this tour were interesting and beautiful. The hotels were excellent, each with helpful staff present. There was always a convenient location for locking our bikes up at night either inside or near the hotel in a safe area. The breakfasts were amazing!!

A great way to see the Netherlands -- 40-50k per day was very doable, landscape and towns lovely, and the hotels were all very cozy and comfortable. Would highly recommend it, and will be doing another one for sure!

Beautiful, green Holland
Best of Holland North: Dutch Villages, Landscapes & the Keukenhof
We combined this tour with Ancient and Medieval Cities of Holland, South and rode this tour in reverse, Leiden to Amersfoort. We were impressed with the route as we skirted the Amsterdam sprawl. Instead we spent our days cycling through small villages, lovely nature areas, past polders and along scenic canals as we rode from Leiden to Haarlem, Eden, Weesp and finished in Amersfoort. The tour information, equipment and the GPS were perfect and the hotels, especially those in Edam, Weesp and Amersfoort were especially lovely. We were constantly impressed by the fact that bicycles were the major form of transportation.
